Follow Friday Question:
Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?
For me it would be erotica. Personally I want my blog to be about books that anyone can read, and erotica is not for everyone. My blog carries everything from YA, Adult fiction, Christian fiction, non- fiction , even children's books . So honestly I don't read the erotic because it just doesn't fit my blog lifestyle . :)
So now it's your turn what book genre do you avoid?
Thanks for tuning in to this weeks Follow Friday

True, erotica is not for everyone :)

Agree! It's slightly awkward to read (even if it is well written)

Couldn't agree more! Granted, I have never really given it a try, but there are just some things you know you won't like. New follower!
~Nikki @ Imaginative Adventure.
I totally agree with you. A lot of romance is only about the sex, lacking a real story line with flat characters. Great answer. I also like to tell people about books that anyone can read. New follower! Check out my FF:
Crystal @ Elegantly Bound Books
I have read some great books in that genre but I agree it is not something everyone can read.

Returning the visist! Yep, I have to turn down books pretty frequently because they just don't fit who I am and what my blog needs to be about. :-)
I would be open to the idea, but not if I wanted a deep story line. And I don't think I would want to write a review on it, lol. That would be something private in my own time.
Returned the follow :)
Jessi @ Auntie Spinelli Reads
That seems to be a genre a lot of people avoid. That and smutty romance novels.
Thanks for the follow. I am now following back :D

I've never read erotica books either and I never will. Just a personal preference. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I'm following you.
Have a great weekend!
oh honestly i didn't even think about them since they're not young adult, and i only read young adult. But yes, i just don't think there is a story behind a novel with this genre.
great blog! new follower too :D
I agree with you, it's quite the same thing for me.
I'm a new follower
I've read erotica in the past but it's not something I would ever review on my blog. I tend to stick mostly to YA stuff. :P
New follower! :)

Thanks for stopping by, now following. I've read books that can lean in that direction but I wouldn't review them
Love the look of your blog! Thanks for stopping by! Following back! =)
And I agree. I do not like novels where the romantic element is the center of the story--there has to be something more for me.

I saw an erotic vampire book today . I might give it a try although I have read some books with steamy passion inside and I don't mind them at all :)
New follower!
Thanks for commenting on my blog! Old follower as well. =)
I agree, some genres aren't for everyone. Which is why I love books, so many to choose from!
Megan @ Between the Lines
Hi, just stopping by from the FF. I'm a new follower. I don't like to read horror books, I'm just not into getting scared all that much. I don't read erotica either (: Have a great weekend!!

I've never heard of erotica as a genre but I'd probably be of the same opinion.
Hi Tristen,
Thank you for stopping by and following my blog. I feel the same, chick-lit is really hit or miss me with too. :)

I do not review erotica either, but I have read a couple books just to try it out. I like books that focus more on the plot than sex.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I read them every now and then but not a lot either. Just not my favorite genre. Thanks for following! I'm following back.
Oh wow I hadn't even thought of that genre at all, I agree I do stay away from that as well! Thanks for stopping by the blog, new follower =)

Erotica, to me, is just super awkward and gross to read. I will never ever read erotica! New follower! :) Happy Friday! My FF!

happy reading and thanks for stopping by!!
I am not really a fan of erotica either.
Thanks for stopping by! New follower
What up T2, lol. I just nicknamed you, hope you don't mind. I've never read erotica but I don't think it's my cup of tea, though I do love romance ;)
Tristan @ Reads With Wreckless Abandon
Some of the PNR and romance I read gets steamy enough, I can't imagine how much further erotica would go. I would probably take a pass on that as well.

I try to read every sub genre in YA!
Erotica is definitely an acquired taste. I have dabbled in reading it on occasion, but it is definitely not my favorite.
Following back.
Jennifer @ Feminist Fairytale Reviews
Every genre can have its good books and bad ones. Unfortunately a bad one can put you off the genre forever. I pretty much read every as long as it has a good story. Following back from The Paperback Princesses

You know, I like romance novels but not the super spicy ones and I can't read erotica.. it's just too graphic.
:)

Thanks for Stopping by my blog, I'm now a follower here too!
I don't read erotica either.. it's not like I'm opposed to it, I jsut haven't seen any that has a good plot, and I don't want to wade through them to find the gems when there's so many books I know I'll love to be read :D
Thanks for dropping by my blog, yours is beautiful! I'm following you via my RSS reader :)

Well written erotica can be good but I agree that it is not for everyone.
Thanks for stopping by and I'm following back.
Confession: I'm 18 but I've read enough erotica to realize that I will never like it. I look like a neon sign once I finish and then everyone will know what I had been reading. No thanks. Prefer to keep myself non-glowing. Thanks for the follow:)
I didn't even think about erotica. I avoid that at all cost as well.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Thanks for visiting and following my blog! I follow you now too!
Have a GREAT weekend!
NEW Follower :D
Thanks for stopping by. I will leave no comment when it comes to erotica. I will say that if a book calls for a steamy scene I enjoy it, as long as it fits in with the story.
I tend to stay away from erotica as well. Thanks for stopping by my FF. Following back! Happy reading.
Thanks for stopping by.. and following .. I am now following you back.. love your blog..

I agree about that genre. It can be uncomfortable and not for me either. Thanks for hopping by. New follower back. Going to check out your site now! Have agreat rest of the weekend....
Thanks for the follow. I followed back with GFC.
Erotica is definitely not for everyone. I read it rarely and only certain kinds.
I'm sorry I am so late in responding to your comment. I've had a crazy weekend. I am a new follower.
Agreed! Erotic type of books aren't very written usually in my opinion either. Thanks for stopping by!
Preet @ AWR
I haven't really read an eroticas but I do read Adult fiction, but i agree Erotica is not for everyone!
Sorry for the late FF reply, I'm a new follower and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Natasha @ Dreamland Teenage Fantasy
I have to agree there. I kind of think that it doesn't appeal to me in any way and- though I know in my head it isn't- part of me feels it's a unclean area to delve in. I also think romance is more interesting and important, not the erotica, when reading.
